people who move here have a hard time finding things to do, at least when it comes to the interesting events that go on. What are good websites for people to find events? What info do newbies need to know, so they can make the most out of the CITY. I have lived here for only 3 years, and still do not know when most annually events start.

I've tried subscribing to a lot of newsletters - Yelp events, the tablehopper, Daily Candy, ThrillistSF, etc. After a while, it's like drinking from a fire hose. At the end of the day, the only site I care about is EveryBlock.

You can customize your own RSS feed to check for updates on whatever size and shape you consider to be your own neighborhood. Best of all, it aggregates info from other sites like Flickr and Yelp, but also finds you interesting neighborhood blogs. You can end up hearing about new parks, laws that could affect your street, and other little tidbits.
