I always see a lot of people on skateboards down by the Ferry Building. Where are some other places to skateboard in San Francisco? Why is it so popular here? |

It's popular the same reason bikes are; it's a quick, easy, and cheap way to get around with the least amount of hassle. For such a young city these are all really good qualities. I just saw a small little skate bowl at Crocker-Amazon Park in the Excelsior (on Geneva and Moscow). But if you know the Excelsior then you know the area might not be the best place to go. But Crocker-Amazon is a park with a playground and about 8 soccer fields also. The skate area is pretty small comparatively.
