I have a very vocal cat and need to figure out what he is trying to tell me. Where can I go in SF to find a good animal therapist?

I did some searching with no luck.. I would try the SPCA. Give them a call to see if they know of any animal therapists.

Our Cat Behavior Email Hotline offers free advice to our cat adopters. If you need help with to cat-to-cat aggression, litter box usage, rough play or socialization, please email: catbehavior@sfspca.org.

I had the same problem with my cat, which was a stray I adopted. I don't know about animal therapists, but what solved the problem for me was getting another cat, for company. They keep each occupied and my yowler is muh quiter :)
