I love playing karaoke games and Rock Band with my roommates, but sometimes I want to go out to have a good time. I'm looking for new favorite venues to sing my heart out. Public style or private room karaoke are both welcome. Let's make it useful by listing one venue per answer, and maybe noting whether they serve food / drinks.

Hands down, The Bow Bow Cocktail Lounge. Located in Chinatown, this place is about the size of a shoe box, and it is usually packed. Four stars on Yelp after 100+ reviews. The lady below is Candy, the bartender. She'll take good care of you if you buy her Hennessy. Seriously.

The Cellar (@ 685 Sutter Street) has free karaoke on monday nights with Kendo. He's a legit DJ that's run a bunch of different karaoke nights all over the city. Good guy, good vibe; I recommend.

When I go to Japantown, I noticed a few places as well. Not sure of the names. If your hungry afterward, go to On The Bridge, this place is a real treat.
