I've read that local banking will get you better rates on big loans (like mortgages) and tends to provide better customer service. How do I look up some locally owned financial services?

I'm not a veteran or a student or anything like that, so if there are really specialized credit unions, I probably won't qualify.

SF Fire Credit Union - The have good rates compared with standard non ASI Banks. (FDIC) I have used them, and find their service to be straight forward.
