I don't live in Berkley, although I'm curious about the locals favorite bars. Which one do you visit often?

So the only bar I have been to in Berkeley is Albatross Pub - the atmosphere is cool, and they have lots of games.

Known for its cozy, laid-back vibe, the Albatross sits slyly on San Pablo Ave., a local secret with an atmosphere that greets you like the guts of an old wooden pirate ship, overflowing with frothy beer and competitive spirits.

Jupiter is the one I visit most often. They brew, they serve good pizza and apps, and the place has a good vibe and often good live music. Super convenient too, since its across from the downtown Berkeley BART.

I don't get to the East Bay nearly enough, but my fave bar in that area is The Trappist, hands down. I realize that it isn't Berkeley, and for that I apologize. But if you like beer, you should definitely visit this bar.

From their site:

What we are all about:

The Trappist is owned and operated by Aaron Porter and Chuck Stilphen. We strive to bring you the finest beer available, served properly at the correct temperature and in the correct glass. Our bottle list features over 160 Belgian, Dutch, French and American micro brews. We have 25+ rotating beer taps, which feature local California, and specialty micro brews from the US as well as several Belgians. You wont find any big corporate brews here, just the finest artisan brewers.

The Main Pub:

The interior of our 1870's Victorian building is modeled after our favorite pubs in Belgium and the Netherlands. Heavy on the Belgian beer decor but authentic to 1870's Victorian Oakland.
