I've never been but this could be where you are talking about. I've heard a lot of good reviews for this place. Especially because there is a variety of outdoorsy activities available there as well as reciprocal memberships around the Bay Area (like Mission Cliffs in SF).

Great Western Power Co. in Oakland- Opened in 2007 and located in downtown Oakland, G.W.P.C. offers some of the best climbing terrain in the Bay Area. An imposing 150 foot tall smokestack cuts through the wall and looms overhead, making it an unforgettable climbing experience.

Sacramento Pipeworks- Just minutes from downtown, you'll find superb climbing on mind-blowing walls, a wide array of weight and cardio equipment, many classes from which to choose, and much more.

Diablo Rock Gym- The most polished of all our gyms with beautiful new weight and cardio equipment, two program rooms hosting numerous classes, sparkling locker rooms, and excellent climbing.
