San Francisco is a pretty laid back place, but it does have a history of military action. I know that in Berkeley they are kind of anti-military, but here we have Fleet Week! My question is, are there military recruiting stations in San Francisco? How many?

There are one of each within the city, which is a shockingly small number compared to other communities.

In 2005 the city voted to pass a bill that banned recruiters from public schools called "College Not Combat." (http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/006/381ngctp.asp) Though I don't know the outcome of this bill but it sparked a lot of political debate about sovereignty and entitlement. It's easy to see why having a physical point where protests can direct their attention might be difficult in this small, easily accessible city.

Here are a list of the recruiting offices in or close to San Francisco:

Navy: 670 Davis Street San Francisco, CA‎ (415) 434-0195‎

Marines: 80 Skyline Plz Daly City, CA 94015 (650) 992-0355

Army: 670 Davis Street San Francisco, CA 94111-1904 (415) 433-4512‎

Air Force: 670 Davis Street San Francisco, CA‎ (415) 956-7544‎

Coast Guard: 201 Mission Street San Francisco, CA‎ (415) 556-2103‎

National Guard: 100 Armory Drive San Francisco, CA‎ (415) 665-6268‎
